A Blossoming Partnership

Working at The Commons co-sharing space, where I host my in-person readings and generally get things done, has been awesome for so many reasons. One of them has been the connection to a community of like-minded people. This month The Commons have been exploring the topic of friendship, and chatting about how new, and older relationships assist in self-development, critical thinking and success within the workplace.

As part of this I was featured together with the lovely Dani from Radiant Sol yoga studio, in their journal and across social media.

Alison from Alison Lasek Astrology and Danielle from Radiant Sol Yoga

Dani and I have formed a blossoming partnership which is very fun to share and celebrate. Yoga and Astrology go hand in hand. Classes tend to be themed around what’s going on in the universe or what the full moon means, but there aren’t many studios that take it further and have a go-to astrologer on deck. That’s where I come in!

Check out our full interview below.

Can you tell us a little about yourselves?

Danielle from Radiant Sol Yoga joined The Commons South Melbourne earlier this year as her Port Melbourne yoga studio is just down the street and gave her the chance to actually get work done. With a background in advertising and a love of all things yoga, owning and running a yoga studio is natural for Danielle.

Alison is based at the Commons full-time. Two days per week she works as a Communications Manager with Bunch and the rest of the week she's busy charting the planets and running her soul-led business Alison Lasek Astrology. Alison loves sharing this ancient wisdom with curious humans who want to make the most of this one precious life. Her skills in communication mean her astrological insights are accessible and engaging, with just the right amount of wo-wo.

How did Radiant Sol and Alison Lasek Astrology come together to collaborate?

Well before covid and working out of The Commons, Alison was a member at Radiant, getting in a yoga class before work. Whilst we always had one eye on each other, knowing that one day an astrology offering at Radiant could be a thing, it wasn’t until we were reunited at The Commons this year that it came to fruition.

With value-adding and community at the heart of all things Radiant, every couple of months we hold an event called Yin & Yarn on a Friday night. Come for Yin, stay for a Yarn. We like to invite a special guest or two to add a little substance and wow factor to the nightcap, and we thought this would be a great way to introduce Alison and all things Astrology to the community.

Alison shared a series of express birth-chart readings with the Radiant Sol community. These concise but super impactful sessions helped our members explore areas of life they might find greater purpose, happiness and fulfilment. The event was a massive hit and we now have lots more collabs in motion!

What qualities of your friendship help your business relationship work?

When we reconnected, it was clear that we both have a lot of energy and passion for what we do. We have a shared love of the universe and the opportunities it presents. Hello—it’s all in the stars! Oh, and we're both communication pros. These shared qualities meant our project came together with so much ease and flow it was like sorcery.

How has collaboration impacted the growth of your individual business?

For Radiant, it means that we’re not just relying on yoga to talk to our community. In this post-covid/lockdown environment, our clients’ behaviour is very different. Expanding into new offerings, like value-add experiences that bring people into the studio and into a supportive community is needed right now.

For Alison, it meant connecting with a new network of astrology lovers. The Radiant yogis were incredibly open to exploring their unique gifts and growth edges through the lens of the birth chart. We have beautifully aligned audiences, which means collaborations like this can only be a good thing for business growth.

Any further comments/info you’d like to add?

After years of knowing each other and reconnecting at The Commons, it’s been such a gift to begin a working relationship. We're both beyond excited.

Next up, Alison has kindly gifted a full-hour Birth Chart reading to one of Radiant’s lucky winners in a yoga challenge and will be making a regular appearance in the Radiant newsletters and socials with astrological content. Alison is also lined up to offer astrology workshops at Radiant very soon.

Radiant Conversations

When our collaboration first kicked off, Dani invited me to be on her podcast, Radiant Conversations. It was so much fun and I’m so proud of how the episode turned out. It’s a beautiful introduction to my practice and story.

We talk about our favourite planets and what they mean. We talk about why you don't need to visibly see the stars in order to receive their guidance. We talk about rituals you can do around all the moon cycles. And we even touch on one of my favourite topics (besides astrology) - how to move beyond fear to live your most creative and abundant life.
